Content
Automated holdings updates for your Ebook Central owned, subscribed and DDA-discoverable holdings are available for Alma, using the Upload Electronic Holdings integration.

NOTE: Customers who used the Automated Holdings integration with Alma prior to November 2020 will transition to the new integration by Ex Libris- implications of the transition are available here.

Please read the following article on the Ex Libris Knowledge Center in its entirety for detailed instructions and information about the Upload Electronic Holdings integration: Upload Electronic Holdings from ProQuest Ebook Central for Subscriptions/Owned/DDA

The Upload Electronic Holdings integration offers significant benefits to customers who would like to automatically manage their Ebook Central titles in Alma:
  • Eliminates the need to manually activate portfolios when there are changes to your owned, DDA, or subscription collections
  • ProQuest Books division produces daily incremental files for each holdings type, and Alma retrieves and processes these updates daily, keeping your collections in Alma as up-to-date as possible
  • Since your exact subscription holdings are sent, there is no need to separately activate subscription collections that may not match your holdings exactly due to geographic differences in availability
If you would like to enable the Upload Electronic Holdings integration, please note:
  • ProQuest recommends that you enable all three types of holdings for the most predictable functionality: Owned, DDA, and Subscription
  • The Upload Electronic Holdings integration works with the Community Zone (CZ) collection Ebook Central Perpetual, DDA and Subscription Titles and will activate CZ records in this collection
  • If you are a member of a consortium in Alma, please contact your consortium administrator about this integration before proceeding. If you are a member of a consortium on Ebook Central, ProQuest will send your consortium holdings along with your locally-held titles, which could cause duplication and other complications if you are using any shared collection in Alma. If your consortium administrator has questions about how this integration would affect current workflows, they can request a consultation with our training team at training@proquest.com
