1. Modify zoom of the book itself
- You can zoom in and out on the page by using the Zoom tools in the toobar at the top of the page
- Use "Zoom..." to optionally fit the width of the book to the viewing panel, or to fit the whole page
- Use "Zoom Out" or "Zoom In" to decrease or increase the size of the book itself
2. Go to a page
- Click on current page number (at top right), then enter desired page number and press enter
- Page numbers used for navigation typically correspond to the page numbers shown on the book's pages (but for certain books, consecutive page numbers, starting with cover = page 1, had to be used).
- For pages prior to page 1, use the appropriate lowercase Roman numeral
3. Flip page
- Click "Previous" or "Next" arrows in the top toolbar to flip page in that direction
- Using these arrows auto-aligns to top of page
4. Scroll through pages
- Use the scroll bar along right side of book
- Scrolling moves through pages, but doesn't auto-align to top of page
5. Jump to chapter or section of the book
- Click on any entry in the live Table of Contents (in the left panel) to jump to that page of the book
- If an arrow appears to the left of a Table of Contents entry, there are additional links underneath
- Click the arrow to expand or collapse.

6. Search for text within the book
- Enter text to search for, then press enter or click the arrow
- To search for an exact phrase, put it in quotes
- Searching for multiple non-quoted words will search for occurrences of either
- Exact terms will be searched for, e.g. great won't find greatest, and greatest won't find great
- Boolean search operators do not work for searches within a book
- Search results display in the “Search” side panel
- Chapter links shown in the search results are live links
- Click arrow by chapter heading to list each page within chapter that includes the search term(s)
- Bars at right show distribution of located search term(s)
- If misspelled search terms are identified, suggestions of similarly spelled words are offered – as well as the number of occurrences for each
- To get back to the Table of Contents side panel, click the table of contents icon (looks like a bulleted list with 3 lines)
7. Hide panel (and re-open panel)
- Hide the left panel by clicking the X to maximize the panel for the book
- Re-open the Table of Contents panel by clicking the icon in the side bar
