May I use a “general” subject code for my paper?
Our editorial staff discourages the use of “general” subject codes. We prefer a combination of different specific subject codes. We are likely to assign your paper a more specific code or codes if we feel there are subject codes available that better describe your paper. Assigning a paper a “general” subject code will limit its searchability both online as well as in the printed indices. If you have already chosen a primary subject code which is specific, there is no need to add a general code as an additional subject code. We will not use a general code as a secondary code.
