We designed eLibrary with Section 508 compliance in mind, and are generally compliant for relevant materials. Because eLibrary emphasizes simple, icon-driven searching, we have performed no formal compliance reviews. For users who require assistive technologies, we maintain an equivalent, all-text eLibrary interface.
Some source materials, because of the format in which they are supplied to us, contain inherent usability limitations. For example, video content is not compatible with screen reader functionality. Where compatible formats are provided by content owners, we endeavor to include those formats in our products. For example, for video content unusable by a hearing-impaired user, we provide transcripts (when they are provided by the content owner).
