ProQuest regularly enhances and streamlines products that positively impact the research lifecycle – delivering remarkable content to users while simplifying the workload for your library.
To focus efforts on products that customers tell us they value most, we will discontinue eLibrary Elementary later this year. Current subscribers will be automatically upgraded to the SIRS Discoverer database at no additional charge.
The SIRS Discoverer database is specifically designed for elementary and middle school learners, researchers, and educators. It is a visual and engaging general reference database that offers editorially curated multimedia content in key curriculum areas—reading, language arts, current events, science, social studies, history, health and technology.
For now, there is nothing that you need to do. We’ll keep you posted with regular updates and provide support and training material.

Is eLibrary Elementary going away?
Yes. By the end of 2017, it will no longer be available. Most current eLibrary Elementary subscribers will see their subscription changed to SIRS Discoverer. You will be reminded of this switch and notified of the exact timing later this year.
What is SIRS Discoverer?
Like eLibrary Elementary, SIRS Discoverer is a general reference database intended for use by elementary and middle school students and educators. And like eLibrary Elementary, it has great content in core curricular areas such as reading, language arts, current events, science, social studies, history, health, and technology. And, SIRS Discoverer offers more than eLibrary Elementary, providing a significant amount of editorially created and curated content. Relaunched to great acclaim in 2015, it features an extremely modern and highly visual and responsive design.
Why the change?
ProQuest has made the strategic decision to focus development and editorial resources on improving those products that our customers have told us they value most. While eLibrary Elementary had a loyal following, we learned that most students and educators find that SIRS Discoverer better meets their educational and research needs.
Is the cost of my current subscription going to increase because of this change?
No. Even though SIRS Discoverer has a higher list price, you won’t have to pay more. Only the standard annual increase you would have paid for eLibrary Elementary will apply.
When will my billing change to reflect the change to SIRS Discoverer?
Once you switch over to SIRS Discoverer, the change will be reflected in a future renewal notice.
Is there anything I need to do to prepare for the conversion from eLibrary Elementary to SIRS Discoverer?
No. When eLibrary Elementary is discontinued, your library will be automatically redirected to SIRS Discoverer.
