Question
My books search has retrieved too many records. How can I narrow them down?
Answer

The best way to narrow your results is to make your search more restrictive. From the Results List, you can limit your search to results found in books only or in magazines only. Clicking the Modify Search button on the results list will take you back to your original search screen, from where you can make changes to your search. You can try using a Boolean operator to restrict your search. If you've only used a family name in your search, you could go back and add another name, or a place name. You could also go to the Search Publications screen and try restricting your search to a specific publication, or a specific range of publication years. All your search results are saved in the Search History, so if your next search is less successful, you can always return to the previous search and try again with different options.
