When you are searching for books, you can enter names either last name, first name (Smith, John) or first name last name (John Smith). HeritageQuest® Online is designed so that your search results will be retrieved regardless of the order in which you enter names. You can also enter several names, combining them with Boolean operators (John Smith AND Pat Lee).

When you are searching census information, the search fields are broken to allow you to search separately for surnames and given names.
